“Charlie, don’t drop that ball!”
My grandfather used to say this to me growing up… and he said it a lot. I used to think he was talking about fly balls and difficult pass receptions, but he wasn’t. Successful people are often defined by their responsibilities. They run companies, provide for their families, are leaders within their communities.
Managing their investments, planning for their future and protecting those they love are vitally important to them. My clients want these items handled by a team of financial professionals who will make certain that no ball ever gets dropped.
“I have concluded that the accumulation of wealth, even if I could achieve it, is an insufficient reason for living. When I reach the end of my days, a moment or two from now, I must look backward on something more meaningful than the pursuit of houses and land and machines and stocks and bonds. Nor is fame of any lasting benefit.
I will consider my earthly existence to have been wasted unless I can recall a loving family, a consistent investment in the lives of people, and an earnest attempt to serve the God who made me. Nothing else makes much sense. “
1. Listening. Most of our clients became wealthy without us. They hire us to advise them… to manage aspects of their financial life that they do not have the time, the expertise, the ability or perhaps the desire to manage on their own. The first step in our process is to listen, ask questions, understand and help define just what you are investing for.
2. Rough Draft. Most clients have some idea of where they are heading, but they require a detailed audit that only a professional advisor can bring. Am I on track? Will I be OK? What have I not thought of? These are questions we all have surrounding our investments and financial plans. Major decisions we will make together and turn a rough draft into a sound plan of action.
3. Implement. Setting a course of action, then making it happen is extremely satisfying. The undone gets done. The unhandled, gets handled. There are no more loose ends. We will spend as much time as necessary to make sure the client understands the strategies we have recommended and chosen.
4. Service, Commitment, Discipline. Attending to client needs, issues and concerns is our mission and my personal passion. We want to be consulted on all matters important to YOU. Our job is to implement your plan, monitor your investments, make the necessary changes, and plot your progress against your goals. As my high school wrestling coach would often say… “To be successful, you must live with discipline, follow a great process and always honor your commitments.”
