I believe too many financial advisors view their clients as “customers.” By definition, that creates a transaction-based relationship (“what’s he here to sell me today?”). That’s not my approach. I think, act and behave as if I’m part of your company. A member of the team. So the relationship has nothing to do with how many transactions (i.e. “sales”) take place over the course of the year. The only measure of the success of the relationship is whether or not we’re making progress towards your goals.

…and it probably doesn’t involve spending your time figuring out retirement plan strategies. Having worked with so many small business owners, I know how to work with your team–CPA’s and attorneys, to make sure that if you’re missing a piece of the puzzle, I’ll know where to find it.
